LOCATION

Peschiera is on the south eastern corner of Lake Garda not far from Sirmione and Lazise.

The town is connected by ferries and is close to the main E70 autostrada/motorway.

Verona is 30 minutes away by car.

Peschiera del Garda

Peschiera del Garda sits at the point where Lake Garda�s waters flow into the Mincio River, a strategic location that has made it a crossroads for trade and military power since ancient times.

Peschiera became an important Roman river port and garrison town on the Via Gallica, the main Roman road linking Verona, Brescia, and Milan. Traces of its Roman past can still be seen today.

From the 15th century onward, under the Venetian Republic, Peschiera was heavily fortified. The Venetians built the famous star-shaped fortress with massive ramparts, bastions, and moats that still define the town today.

Today, Peschiera is a popular tourist resort on Lake Garda with easy access to the motorway network and Gardaland.

UNESCO-listed Venetian Walls & Moats: This star-shaped fortress with water-filled moats surrounds the town. Enter through Porta Verona (east) or Porta Brescia (west), and stroll along bastions like San Marco and Querini for scenic vantage points over Lake?Garda and the canals
