Bellagio
Lake Como, Italy
Bellagio is know as the Pearl of Lake Como and is, perhaps, one of the most romatic locations on the Lake.
About Bellagio
View across to Bellagio, Lake Como
The town itself is located on a promontory between two legs of Lake Como and has a number of little boutique shops selling a variety of goods, along with restaurants and cafes.
Bellagio’s real beauty comes from its waterfront location and the two villas nearby – Villa Serbollini and Villa Melzi (see below).
Villa Melzi has wonderful waterfront gardens that you can visit and Villa Serbollini, built in the 15th century, once hosted famous guests such as Leonardo da Vinci, Emperor Maximilian I, Emperor Francis I and Queen Victoria.
These days it is a five star hotel where you can enjoy dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant and stay like a prince or princess (details below).
Bellagio has a lot of steps (cobbled), so be prepared and bring some practical footwear.
