Cernobbio has a cafe-lined promenade lined and it also has a Lido (swimming pool and sunbathing area along with a bar and restaurant). More information here.

Villa Erba is where the film director Luchino Visconti spent many summers (he was probably best known for Death in Venice with Dirk Bogarde (1971). It is now an events venue, however, if no events are scheduled, you can usually visit the Park of Villa Erba which is near the waterfront.

Cernobbio’s most famous villa is Villa d’Este, built in 1568, designed by the architect Pellegrino Pellegrini. It became a luxury hotel in 1873. See more on our Villa d’Este page.

The main Villa in Cernobbo is Villa d’Este which is now a hotel. There are however, a couple of others to see. Villa Pizza and Villa Bernasconi. The latter two are only open to pre-booked guided tours (website links below)

FERRY INFORMATION

From Cernobbio to Como and vice versa is 14 minutes.

From Cernobbio to Bellagio is one hour and 15 minutes by fast ferry, two hours and one minute by slow ferry.

Tickets can be bought directly from the ferry service website, except for fast boat tickets which must be bought at the ground station.
