About Menaggio
Menaggio is just north of Bellagio on the west side of Lake Como with easy ferry access across Lake Como.
The heart of Mennagio is Piazza Garibaldi in which are a number of cafes and restaurants. The lakeside promenade is an ideal place to walk, relax and enjoy a gelato while admiring Lake Como and the mountains.
Menaggio was conquered by the Romans in 196 BC. It was a walled town. Remnants of of which you can still see today.
Today it is well known for the Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club, founded in 1907 by an English gentleman who spent his holidays on Lake Como during the late 19th century.
Among many events which occur in the town every summer & autumn is the Menaggio Guitar Festival (facebook). Guitarists who have played here include Pete Huttlinger (Nashville Stuio artst), Martin Taylor (who worked with Stephane Grappelli), Franco Cerri, Roman Bunka (Jazz Fiosn)

FERRY INFORMATION
Menaggio to Bellagio by ferry is from 16 to 45 minutes depending on the ferry.
Menaggio to Como takes from 59 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes depending on the ferry.
From Varenna (where there’s a train station), it takes between 5 and 22 minutes to reach Menaggio.
Tickets can be bought directly from the ferry service website, except for fast boat tickets which must be bought at the ground station.
